Hello and welcome to Highroller Games! This site contains all the Information you need to play the 8th Generation revision of House Games.
What is House Games?
House Games is a homebrew system for White Wolf’s Story Teller system. It utilizes a round-robin storytelling format where individual sessions tell a self-contained story, and the position of storyteller is rotated between the various members of the group. This solves the issue of absenteeism whilst allowing for a novel form of collaborative storytelling. If you are unfamiliar with our game system I suggest beginning with New Players Start Here. Although this site is currently still being created, our eventual goal is to be a complete, self contained source book. All the rules you will need to play is on the website with no strings attached.
What does “8th Gen Revision” mean?
I did not create House Games. This project is but one in a long tradition of this unique system. We can trace this game’s history all the way back to the early 90s. As far as I know, there is 8 degrees of separation between me and the original game. Thus I am of the 8th generation. If you have been introduced to this website by me or by chance you are a 9th gen (Click here for more information).
Most of this website is rewrites of various sources. I created this revision because I wanted to get my irl friends to play this wonderful system. However 3 badly formated PDFS and a dying wiki host does not may for a good user experience. As such I began the thankless task of transcribing the system onto a stable website. However as I began to do so, I realized just how poorly written the original system was. Very quickly this project became a complete and total rewrite of the system.
So whenever you see mention of 8th Gen Revision or 8GEN, just know that it is shorthand for the edition of the game this is. Similar to how one may say DND 5E. I don’t actually know how many revisions come before, as far I know there were at least 3 before this one. But I cannot be sure. So for sake of simplicity this project is the 8th Gen revision (because I am of the 8th Generation).
